Exercise has amazing benefits for your overall health, but you might be surprised to learn the quickest way to lose weight is by simply adjusting your diet.  From breakfast, to lunch, dinner and dessert, here are some recipes to try to get a flatter stomach and leaner body, within a few short weeks.
Breakfast: Cut out dairy, which can make you bloated and gassy. Swap milk in your coffee for a non dairy creamer like coconut, almond or cashew milk. And speaking of creamer, ditch the sugar too. Cutting out sugar is the quickest way to shed some pounds. Try this delicious, naturally sweet, no sugar smoothie bowl

Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 scoop Vega Protein and Greens Chocolate protein powder
1 ripe banana (can use frozen)
Toppings: fruit like raspberries, unsweetened coconut flakes, gluten free granola pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds or chia for crunch and added protein
Directions:
Place the coconut milk, protein powder and banana in a blender and puree until very smooth. Pour in a bowl and add toppings of your choice.

Lunch: Load up on protein and high fiber veggies. A huge salad, topped with high protein quinoa, crunchy cucumbers and leafy greens will keep you fuller longer. If you need protein, add lean meat like grilled chicken or salmon. I make a salad dressing using fresh lemon juice, which is another fat blaster, it flushes toxins from the body, not to mention adds a bright boost to any dressing. TIP: If you are starving come lunch time, grab a spoonful of almond butter first, which will satiate your stomach, so you won’t over eat during the meal.

Protein Packed Salad with Lemon Herbed Vinaigrette
2 cups fresh organic spinach
1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
1/2 cup cooked quinoa
1 Persian cucumber, sliced
2 tbsp roasted and salted sunflower seeds
Lemon Herbed Vinaigrette
1 lemon, juiced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp fresh dill, chopped
1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp fresh chives, chopped
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Directions:
Place the vinaigrette ingredients in a mason jar, seal and shake vigorously.  Pour over the salad ingredients and toss.

Dinner: Swap out your vegetable to meat ratio. If you fill up on cruciferous vegetables like Brussels Sprouts or load up on steamed broccoli, you won’t be as tempted to polish off an enormous burger. 4-6 ounces of broiled salmon or turkey burger is the right portion and should keep you feeling satisfied.
Dessert: I said it before, but sugar can have a big impact on your waistline. When I cut it out entirely I shed several pounds within two weeks. It’s not easy to do, but if you keep fruit handy, like papaya which is loaded with enzymes and fat flushing properties, you’ll lose belly fat fast!
