When Halloween rolls around, I’m in the mood for a sultry drink that is both devilish and angelic. I created this recipe using two of my favorite new liqueurs, a chocolate and Mexican chili infused tequila called Patron XO Cafe Incendio, and an orange infused tequila called Patron Citronge. With a splash of (good) coffee and cream, it’s sweet, spicy and packed with depth and flavor. The best part is, like all my cocktail recipes, it’s easy! Four ingredients and a simple shake, that’s my kind of drink! If you want to elevate any drink, rim the glass. I mixed raw brown sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Just a little pinch goes a long way, but, wow, does it make a difference. This drink is a sophisticated addition to an adult Halloween party, give it a try and let me know what you think.
Black Widow Martini
1.5 oz Patron XO Cafe Incendio Liqueur
.5 oz Patron Cintronge Liqueur
2 oz fresh brewed and chilled coffee
splash of cream
ice
shaker
Directions:
In a large shaker add all the ingredients. A note about coffee. I used a French Press to make my coffee, it makes a huge difference in the coffee flavor. I also added a fat pinch of cinnamon while brewing. Fill the shaker with ice, give it a vigorous shake and strain into a cinnamon, cayenne, sugar rimmed martini glass. Enjoy!
