Beef and Broccoli Stirfry

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb leftover steak (I had filet mignon leftovers, but you could easily substitite ribeye or NY Strip, just trim exterior fat)
  • 1 lb leftover steamed broccoli
  • 1/3 cup Mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tsp chili onion crunch
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup light olive oil or vegetable oil

For serving:

  • Rice or noodles

Instructions

  1. Slice the steak very thin into one inch long strips.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients for the marinade, story until the cornstarch has dissolved and then add the meat to the bowl and toss to coat.
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or you can prepare this in the morning and refrigerate until dinnertime
  4. Heat a large cast iron skillet to high heat.
  5. Once the pan is hot, add the oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan.
  6. Add the meat and stir vigorously util beef has a browned at the edges, about 3-4 minutes. Reduce the heat to low, add the steamed broccoli and any sauce remaining in the mixing bowl. Toss to combine, serve immediately
