Homemade Basil Pesto

Units Scale
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 cup packed fresh basil leaves, stems removed
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp toasted pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil


  1. In a food processor, pulse the garlic until finely minced
  2. Add the basil, pine nuts, salt and Parmesan and pulse again until minced
  3. With the food processor running, slowly add the extra virgin olive oil until completely blended. Serve immediately or store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
