Healthy Tips for Keeping your Fitness Resolution

Staying on track of your health and fitness goals isn’t as simple as just working out a couple days a week.  I think losing weight and keeping it off is 20% fitness and 80% nutrition so keeping healthy snacks on hand is crucial for staying energized and feeling full all day long.  Here are some of the things I keep on track and why they help me.

  • 32oz Nalgene Water Bottle: Of all the new plastic water bottles Ive tried, my classic Nalgene is still my favorite. It’s BPA free, so great for hot or cold water without plastic leaching and it’s virtually indistructable.  But the best part is it measures 32 ounces, so I can always keep track of how much water I drink. I fill it up twice a day, keep it with me everywhere I go, and then I know I’ve gotten in my 8 glasses of water daily.
  • Raw almonds: I keep a bag in my car, portioned out. I love nuts, any kind, but it’s easy for me to over indulge. If I keep a small amount in a plastic bag, I will get a filling, protein packed snack without over doing it.
  • Protein and Snack Bars: Plant protein is the latest protein source that is sustainable and healthy. Protein builds muscle and keeps you fuller longer, but for a lighter option I go for ones that are lower in calories and sugar.

I hope these few, simple and affordable tips help you keep up with your resolutions and stay on track! Let me know what plan you’re trying out and what recipes you’d like to see to stay healthy and nourished during these cold winter months.
