Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Units Scale
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas, make sure they’re very ripe)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (can substitute Greek yogurt)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips


  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas
  2. Add the eggs, melted butter, sugar, sour cream and vanilla and whisk to combine
  3. Add the four, baking powder and salt and mix until incorporated
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top
  5. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until browned. Use a wooden baking pick to make sure it comes out without batter sticking to it.
